В Одессе в воскресенье официально начались первые старты открытой Всеукраинской регаты крейсерских яхт "Кубок портов Черного моря-2011". В соревнованиях принимают участие ведущие спортсмены из разных регионов государства. Уже одиннадцатый раз подряд (с 2001 года) в честь профессионального праздника - Дня работников морского и речного флота Украины - проводится эта регата. У ее истоков стояли три черноморских порта - Одесса, Южный и Ильичевск, но летопись парусного спорта южного региона началась в 1875 году, когда был основан и открыт в Одессе один из первых на юге Черноморский яхт-клуб. Спортивные соревнования уровня регаты "Кубок портов Черного моря" способствуют развитию яхтового туризма, подготовке квалифицированных шкиперов и яхт-экипажей, развитию детского и юношеского парусного спорта. Полномочные организаторы регаты - Одесская областная Федерация парусного спорта и Центральное физкультурно-спортивное общество "Водник". Регата проходит до 7 июля.
